Heath Herring Seminar & Autograph Session
On Sunday September 21, 2008 Heritage Martial Arts was proud to host the 1st ever UFC fighter to ever come to Kitchener-Waterloo. Heath Herring – better known as “The Texas Crazy Horse” has quite the following amongst UFC fanatics, many of whom turned out for this free autograph signing. After the public signing was complete Heath took 30 students, many from our own club, into the dojo and spent 2 intense hours teaching the UFC secrets of training, grappling and all other aspects of MMA! “The guy is really cool – very down to earth and a great teacher” was the consensus amongst the seminar participants. A big thank-you goes out to all of those people that attended the seminar along with special thanks to Chuck O’Neill, Warren Gagnon, Deb & Dan Neufeglise, and Andrew Brown who helped during the days events. A signed poster dedicated to the club, a ride around in our very own club dune-buggy and Heath dawning a Heritage MMA t-shirt are moments this club and our students will remember for a long time. Thank you to Heath Herring and his promotional team for making their stop in KW a great experience!

Tom Patire LRT Seminar
On Saturday October 25, 2008 Heritage Martial Arts was proud to welcome world-renowned bodyguard and safety expert Tom Patire to our club for a special Last Resort Tactics (LRT) Seminar. Mr. Patire is the founder of CDT Personal Safety Systems, a series of personal safety courses that Heritage Martial Arts is proud to be certified to offer to the public, schools, businesses and the security/law enforcement community. Mr. Patire spent two hours with a group of 35 seminar participants showing how to escape from life’s most threatening situations. “Absolutely amazing!” was the general feedback after watching Mr. Patire demonstrate and teach some of the most advanced techniques in order to survive a no-win situation. A big thank-you to Mr. Patire and Mr. Wyka from CDT systems for making the trip from New Jersey to Kitchener for this special appearance and seminar. Thank you also goes out to all of the day’s participants who treated our visiting guests with nothing but respect during the seminar. We are looking to have Mr. Patire back in January of 2009 for another seminar as part of our continuing seminar series(details to follow).
